Sri Satya* Sai Baba: Avatar of the Age

Sai Baba has stated, "For the protection of the virtuous, for the destruction of evildoers, and for the establishment of righteousness on a firm footing, I incarnate from age to age. Whenever disharmony overwhelms the world, the Lord will incarnate in human form to establish the modes of earning peace, and to reeducate the human community in the paths of peace."

Sri Satya Sai Baba, a divine being and a sacred embodiment, has incarnated to unify thousands of persons in the world from all walks of life under a mutual bond of spiritual harmony, awareness of the divine, peace, goodwill and universal brotherly love.

Since 1950 Satya Sai Baba's residence and headquarters has been in Prashanti Nilayam Ashram (the abode of perfect peace), a parcel of land in Puttaparthi, India.

Selfless service to mankind is the highest discipline that Satya Sai Baba teaches, and he exemplifies this ideal. His inspiration, guidance and unceasing efforts have resulted in the formation of more than 10,000 service organizations all over the world. Thousands of people, from every part of the world come daily to receive His darshan** and blessings.

*Satya: Usually spelled with an "h" (Sathya), Swamini Turiyasangitananda chose to use the English phonetic version "Satya" in her book "Divine Revelations" and other publications for those unfamiliar with the "th" pronunciation as not being similar to "th" in the word "think" for example.

**Darshan: literally means 'seeing' a divine person or manifestation of God.
